FAQ
A credit is one call we actually pay a data provider for. A domain lookup spends one credit per
field group it has to fetch fresh, so it depends on what you ask for:
fields=rating costs 1, fields=rating,traffic costs 3, and the default
rating,traffic,countries costs 4. Anything answered from our shared cache costs
zero — and popular domains are usually cached. Your /v1/usage
endpoint shows the running total in real time.
Monthly plan credits reset with the month (UTC). Prepaid pack credits last 12 months — that's what packs are for.
Requests answer 429 quota_exceeded with a clear message; nothing silently degrades and nothing is billed as overage. Upgrade, add a pack, or wait for the reset.
Yes. Plans buy volume and rate, never data quality. The free tier reads the same providers the Scale tier does.
