We run a small portfolio of SEO and digital-PR software products. Every one of them needed the same three numbers: a Domain Rating, a traffic estimate, some keyword data. And every one of them was paying for that separately — another seat here, another marketplace subscription there, the same metric bought three times under three names.
The pricing landscape made it worse. A Similarweb seat starts at $149 a month and doesn't include the API — that's a separate sales conversation, and annual contracts are common. Ahrefs' data is superb, but programmatic access sits behind its higher tiers. If your product needs one JSON number per domain, you were being asked to buy the whole dashboard, several times over. (Those are their published entry list prices as of August 2026 and change at their discretion; check their sites for current figures.)
So we consolidated all of our own provider plumbing behind one gateway: one contract, one vocabulary, one cache. Repeat lookups became free. Fields started carrying their provider and fetch date, so nobody had to guess where a number came from. Then we realized the thing we'd built for ourselves was the thing we'd been trying to buy all along — and opened it up with a published price list and a free tier.
That's the whole company. No sales team, no "book a demo" wall, no annual lock-in. A key, a quota, and honest numbers.
